Newly re-elected Hertsmere MP Oliver Dowden has been made a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath in the dissolution honours 2024.

The dissolution honours are a list of people nominated to receive honours after the dissolution of parliament prior to a general election.

Mr Dowden has received the honour for 'political and public service', having served as Deputy Prime Minister under the Conservative government, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Secretary of State for the Cabinet Office.

He was also previously Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and chairman of the Conservative Party.

In the election, although overall the Conservatives lost to Labour by a landslide, Mr Dowden was re-elected as MP with 21,451 votes.
