A group of residents are set to cover the distance from Welwyn Garden City to Ukraine to raise money for a WGC Ukrainian Support Group.

This March, 30 trekkers, joggers, cyclists, and riders will walk over 2,200km.

The group is made up of refugees, residents and their children.

The community is hoping to acquire sponsorships and raise £2,200 to provide Ukrainian refugees with day trips this spring and summer to create some happy, positive memories to detract from the trauma that so many are experiencing.

Over the last year, the group has worked hard to help unite the Ukrainian refugee community through regular meetings and events and to provide them with information and connect them with support groups, friends, jobs and sponsors.
