MOVIES Top Gun and Breakfast at Tiffany’s can be watched under the stars at Hatfield House later this year.
THE characters of Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell and Holly Golightly could not be more different.
But both can be watched under the stars at Hatfield House later this year.
The Luna Cinema will be screening Oscar-winning Breakfast at Tiffany’s in September and Tom Cruise blockbuster Top Gun the following night.
So grab your picnic hampers and experience a giant screen in one of the country’s most incredible settings.
Organisers are showing one of the true Hollywood greats, Breakfast At Tiffany’s, on Thursday, September 26.
Starring the goddess of the silver screen, Audrey Hepburn, as Holly Golightly in that little black dress, it’s one of those films you simply have to see back on the big screen.
The screening will also have an exclusive pre-film video introduction from one of the stars of the movie, Mickey Rooney.
It’s a change of pace and style the following evening, Friday, September 27, with Tony Scott’s 1986 flag-waving American action drama Top Gun exploding onto the big screen in all its bombastic glory.
Featuring a young Tom Cruise in arguably his most famous role, alongside Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards – who played Goose – and Kelly McGillis, Top Gun is the story of hot shot pilots at the Navy’s elite fighter weapons school and is set to a soundtrack of classic 80s tunes, including Berlin hit Take My Breath Away.
Hatfield House gates will open at 6.30pm, with the films starting when it is dark enough, approximately 7.45pm.
Capacities on both nights are strictly limited, so book your tickets in advance.
Tickets cost £12.50 for adults and £8.50 for children aged five to 15, and can be booked either from The Luna Cinema’s website at www.thelunacinema.com or on the booking line 0844 858 6767.
Visitors are advised to take a rug or low back chair to sit on. Guests are welcome to bring picnics. The event is held outdoors and will take place whatever the weather.
Entrance to this event – parking or walking in – will be via Station Lodge, opposite Hatfield Railway Station.
