War Horse sequel rides into Welwyn Garden City

THE moving sequel to West End and Broadway stage smash and Steven Spielberg blockbuster War Horse comes to a Welwyn Garden City theatre this weekend.
The story of War Horse captured the hearts and imaginations of the nation, first as a book, then as a stage play and finally as a Hollywood movie.
Now, for those of you who want to know what happened to Joey and Albert after the war, Michael Morpurgo’s sequel, Farm Boy, has been adapted for the stage and will be at the Hawthorne Theatre, in WGC, on Sunday.
Grandpa – or Albert’s son – still lives on his Devon farm.
Every holiday, his grandson visits him and Grandpa tells the young boy stories of his father, of Joey and of his life – but there is still one thing that Grandpa has still not told him; a deep, dark secret.
Both a moving account of the changing face of the English countryside and a beautifully crafted reminder that stories really can reach out across the generations, Farm Boy combines drama, storytelling and original music to create a spellbinding show for anyone over the age of seven.
* New Perspectives Theatre Company and Scamp Theatre present Farm Boy by Michael Morpurgo at the Hawthorne Theatre, Campus West, on Sunday, October 14 at 1pm and 3.30pm.
Tickets are £12 and £10 concessions.
