IF you enjoy those Bare Necessities, you'd better head over to Hertford this weekend for some animal magic.

The Jungle Book plays at the Hertford Theatre on Saturday, October 27.

After the huge success of their sell-out tour last year, Polka Dot Pantomimes – as seen on BBC2’s Dragons’ Den – are preparing to swing into town with their adventurous adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s famous story.

The show follows Mowgli, a young boy born into the jungle and raised by a pack of wolves.

Mowgli learns about the jungle and friendship from Baloo and Bagheera while attempting to avoid Shere Khan, the Bengal tiger who is determined to banish him from the jungle world.

Mowgli’s adventures lead him to the ultimate realisation that his rightful place is in the human world and not with his animal friends.

The production will feature West End performers as highly mobile costumed characters, resulting in animals that bring the jungle to life right before your eyes.

This action-packed and funny show includes lots of audience participation and is the perfect half-term adventure.

All the favourite characters and iconic moments will be there, as Polka Dot Pantomimes present this new adaptation that is suitable for the whole family.

Audiences will be delighted with Colonel Hathi and his herd of elephants, King Louie and his hep-cat monkeys and, of course, the boisterous Baloo, with his unforgettable bouncing rendition of Bare Necessities.

Other musical highlights include I Want To Be Like You, Jungle Rhythm and Colours of the Wind.

So don’t monkey around, book your tickets now.

Full tickets cost £10, concessions pay £8.50 and a family ticket for four is £34.

There are two performances, at 1pm and 4pm, and the show runs for approximately 90 minutes.

Tickets can be booked by calling the Hertford Theatre box office on 01922 531500 or online at www.hertfordtheatre.com
