Take a step back into 1920s and 30s New York City in St Albans next week.

Swinging at The Cotton Club celebrates the music and dance of The Cotton Club – Harlem’s hottest nightclub of the 1920s and 30s.

The action-packed show arrives at The Alban Arena on Thursday, February 2 at 7.30pm.

Performances by Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Fats Waller would have had the club swinging back in the day, while dancers such as Bojangles Robinson and the Nicholas Brothers lit-up the stage with their breathtaking routines.

In this exhilarating show, the dance and music of The Cotton Club is recreated by the fabulous Lindy Hop Dance Company and the show’s special guest tap-dancer, alongside The Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm Orchestra, featuring American vocalist Marlene Hill and compere/vocalist Megs Etherington.

Tickets cost £20, and £18 concessions.

• To buy tickets, call The Alban Arena box office on 01727 844488 or book online at www.alban-arena.co.uk
