Scattered at Hertford Theatre

SCATTERED, a new dance production from Motionhouse, visits the Hertford Theatre on Friday.

Seven dancers perform on an infinity stage where movement and film integrate in a new and breathtaking way, using projections created by award-winning Spanish filmmakers Logela Multimedia.

Scattered is performed by Claire Benson, Giorgio de Carolis, Junior Cunningham, Laura Peña Nuñez, Olivia Quayle, Alasdair Stewart and Philipp Stummer.

The performers are at one moment on the stage then suddenly sprinting up the upstage curved wall – think half pipe snowboard or skate ramp – immersing themselves in sensational images of cascading waterfalls, rainstorms and swimming pools.

They hang, suspended over a frozen landscape at the very top of the curve, before diving onto the stage through the ice floes and frozen waters.

Original music by composer Sophy Smith and atmospheric lighting by Natasha Chivers aid the ebb and flow of the piece, while set designer Simon Dormon is the mastermind behind the giant curved stage.

Tickets are £15, £13, and £10 for groups of 10 or more, and are available from the box office on 01992 531500 or online at
