BLACK comedy The Beauty Queen of Leenane has taken Broadway by storm and is now set to do the same in WGC.

The play will take to the stage at The Barn Theatre from January 25 until February 2 from 8pm.

Set in an Irish cottage, lonely Maureen Folan lives with her manipulative ageing mother who interferes in her only chance of happiness, a loving relationship.

A chain of events is set in motion that is full of gothic humour.

Dick Breeze, director of the show, said: "It is a real rollercoaster of a play and I am full of admiration for the very clever writing and the fact that the author Martin McDonagh is said to have written it in a week!"

Now the play has become popular in the reading list for A Level students.

Dick added: "Besides students, this is a play that anybody who enjoys a good night of theatre should see."

To book tickets call Campus West Box Office on 01707 357117 or visit www.barntheatre.co.uk.

The show is not considered suitable for children.
