CELEBRATE the humanity of Shakespeare's comedy with a new production of Much Ado About Nothing this Thursday (January 17).

Red Shift will present the classic play at the Maltings Theatre in St Albans and director Jonathan Holloway's textual reworking emphasises the piece's grotesque mischief.

Set against the backdrop of civil war and the constant threat of casual violence, the action is moved to early 1990s Yugoslavia.

Emphasising the comedy's humiliation, revenge and brutality, two loving relationships are brought to the brink of disaster by a pair of ruthless brothers.

It starts at 8pm. Tickets are £12 or £10 for concessions.
