Hatfield orchestra’s opening concert of 2014

Works by Beethoven, Mozart and Schumann will be performed by an orchestra in Hatfield.

Conducted by Robin Browning, the de Havilland Philharmonic returns to action this evening (Sunday).

The University of Hertfordshire’s resident orchestra will be performing at The Weston Auditorium, on the de Havilland Campus, from 7.30pm.

The orchestra’s first concert of 2014 opens with a set of threes – Beethoven’s Leonora Overture No.3, followed by Mozart’s Violin Concerto No.3, performed by the Philharmonic’s leader, Richard Aylwin.

The second half of the concert will be Schumann’s Symphony No.3, The Rhenish, which is regard as his most joyous, exuberant and uplifting symphony.

Tickets cost £20 full, £15 concessions and £6 students.
