Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it’s off to panto we go! Cast members of Stevenage’s pantomime were in town this week to promote the Gordon Craig’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, what’s the perfect panto for one and all?
A star-studded line-up will be appearing at the Gordon Craig Theatre this Christmas.
One of the country’s longest-running pantos, the festive treat will feature TV and West End actress Hannah-Jane Fox, best known for playing Mum in the hit CBBC show Millie Inbetween.
She will be channelling all things evil as she steps into the role of Snow White’s jealous stepmother, Narcissia.
Former EastEnders star and Dancing on Ice contestant Matt Lapinskas will play the panto’s dashing hero, Prince Simon, opposite Hannah Boyce as Snow White.
They will appear alongside Stevenage panto legend Paul Laidlaw and Aidan O’Neill.
The Lytton Way venue’s 2018/2019 panto season marks Paul’s 32nd at the Stevenage theatre.
Paul’s first panto role at the Gordon Craig was Widow Twankey in Aladdin in the 1980s.
Since then he has played ‘every other Dame in the business’, stepping out of skirts for only one year as Buttons in Cinderella.
This year sees him as Dame Delores Dingbat – Dolly for short – housekeeper at the palace.
Paul will be joined once again by comedy sidekick Aidan O’Neill as Herbie the Huntsman – protector of the beautiful Snow White.
Back by popular demand, Aidan is fast becoming a Stevenage panto favourite with this production being his fifth.
The Snow White cast visited Knebworth House on Sunday for promotional pictures, and were at the Gordon Craig the following day, with Aidan O’Neill and the Seven Dwarfs spotted doing some ‘flossing’ outside the venue.
As well as the huge talent on stage, the venue is also excited to welcome back award-winning choreographers Twist and Pulse, following their win for ‘Best Choreography’ at the Great British Pantomime Awards for last year’s GCT production of Jack and the Beanstalk.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs opens at the Gordon Craig Theatre on Friday, November 30 and runs until January 27, 2019.
Tickets are on sale now and selling fast.
