Avast, me hearties! One of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most famous works will be performed in Hertford.
Ware Operatic presents The Pirates of Penzance at Hertford Theatre from Tuesday, March 8 to Saturday, March 12.
And there are free tickets up for grabs for the production.
With 2016 being a leap year, Ware Operatic is returning to its roots with another production of The Pirates of Penzance, which was the first production by the society in 1969 as part of an evening class at Ware College.
Young hero Frederic’s birthday falls on February 29. And to celebrate, since Frederic doesn’t have many birthdays, Ware Operatic is offering two complimentary tickets for the Tuesday performance of The Pirates of Penzance to anyone who has a birthday on February 29.

A Ware Operatic spokesman added: “The rehearsals for Pirates of Penzance over the past few weeks have confirmed that nobody should underestimate the inspired genius or infectious spirit of Gilbert and Sullivan.”
The show is packed with laughter, romance and a ship-full of memorable melodies and catchy tunes such as I Am a Pirate King, Modern Major General and A Policeman’s Lot is Not a Happy One.
