THE smash-hit Fairy Tales of the Unexpected returns to Welwyn Garden City by popular demand later this week – perfect for the half-term holiday.
After wowing audiences at Campus West during the summer holidays, the stars are promising fun for all the family for the show’s Hawthorne Studio revisit tomorrow (Thursday) at 3pm.
The audience is taken on a magical trip into a fairytale land like no other, as a host of children’s favourites are given a bit of a twist.
See Little Red Riding Hoody, the forlorn Rapunzel and the naughty Gingerbread Man star in lots of adventures in a show packed with action, singing, cheering and booing, lots of colourful costumes, and maybe even a custard pie or two!
The show is the brainchild of popular comedian and entertainer Tom Beard, who is no stranger to children’s theatre where he frequently had children – and adults – doubled up with mirth at his comedy antics.
Tom said: “Everyone loves a fairytale but you won’t have enjoyed stories like these before.
“We want our young audience to get involved with lots of shouting, cheering, singing and laughing, and the adults can’t just sit quietly in their seats.
“We are after non-stop fun and laughter.”
He added: “We’ve puts lots of stories together which the kids will love, along with some gags for the adults.
“The one thing we can guarantee is that everyone will leave with a smile on their face.”
It is the latest project for producers LP Creatives, who are fast building a strong reputation for their family shows and pantomimes around the country.
Tom explained: “We had a hugely successful Fairy Tales of the Unexpected summer season at a number of top theatres and are really thrilled to now bring back the production to WGC.”
* Fairy Tales of the Unexpected takes place in the Hawthorne Studio, at Campus West, WGC, on Thursday, November 1 at 3pm. All tickets cost £6.50.
