EastEnders star quitting Albert Square to appear in Stevenage pantomime
AN EastEnders star is quitting Walford – but will be going to the ball in pantomime in Hertfordshire later this year.
Gillian Wright, who has played troubled Jean Slater in the BBC1 soap for eight years, is set to leave Albert Square.
The actress is looking to pursue other work, and already has one theatre role lined up – as the Fairy Godmother, in Cinderella, this winter.
She will be treading the boards at the Gordon Craig Theatre, in Stevenage, from Saturday, November 30 to Sunday, January 26, 2014.
The Stevenage 2013 panto will once again star Paul Laidlaw, the town’s favourite dame, and Scott Cripps as Buttons.
Tickets for school shows are £10.75 per ticket, while prices start from £15.50 for seats at other performances.
Check the Gordon Craig website at www.gordon-craig.co.uk for more details, or phone the box office on 01438 363200.
