Budding young performers are being invited to audition for parts in a youth theatre group's forthcoming production of hit musical Fame.

RARE Youth Productions is holding open auditions at the Alban Arena, in St Albans, on Sunday, February 15 from 10am to 12.30pm.

The auditions are open to interested parties aged eight and 21.

Those keen on treading the boards need to attend one audition, which will last between 20 to 30 minutes.

A spokesman said: “You do not need to prepare anything, but you will be taught a short excerpt from a song, a short movement piece, and may be asked to read from the script.

“You do not need to book a time slot, just arrive any time during the audition. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for dancing.”

Eight to 12-year-olds will audition between 10am and 11.30am, and auditions for 13 to 21-year-olds will be held between 11.30am and 12.30pm.
