The booze-fuelled Barmageddon blockbuster will be available to buy in the UK on November 25, with American fans able to purchase the apocalyptic sci-fi comedy from November 19.

Starring Hertfordshire-based actor Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, The World’s End is the final part of director Edgar Wright’s so-called Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy, after zombie rom-com Shaun of the Dead and cop buddy movie Hot Fuzz.

And the full Cornetto Trilogy, also known as the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, will also be available in a special package.

The latest instalment in the laugh-out-loud trilogy features the ultimate reunion – one night, five reunited school friends, 12 bars and a bid to reach the fabled World’s End pub.

Joining Pegg and Frost on the adrenaline-fuelled quest are Brookmans Park-based Martin Freeman, of Love Actually and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey fame, ex-Bond girl Rosamund Pike, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, Mamma Mia! star and former James Bond Pierce Brosnan and Bill Nighy.

The epic conclusion to Britain’s best-loved trilogy was shot on location in Welwyn Garden City last year, with four of the Hertfordshire town’s pubs featuring along fictional venue Newton Haven’s infamous Golden Mile.

The exterior of The Peatree doubled as The First Post and was also used for a number of pub interiors, with The Doctor’s Tonic, The Cork – soon to be renamed the Sir Ebenezer Howard – and The Parkway Bar featuring as The Old Familiar, The Famous Cock and The Cross Hands respectively.

Drinking establishments, shops and even a cinema in Letchworth were used for the final eight pubs on the mates’ drinking binge.

The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy

Also known as the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy

* Shaun of the Dead (2004)

A romantic zombie horror comedy – features a red strawberry flavoured Cornetto.

* Hot Fuzz (2007)

A buddy cop action movie – includes classic original blue Cornetto.

* The World’s End (2013)

A sci-fi comedy – will feature a green mint choc-chip Cornetto.

The plot of The World’s End revolves around fortysomething waster Gary King (Pegg), who is determined to fulfil his lifelong dream of completing ‘the Golden Mile’, a legendary drinking marathon in his hometown of Newton Haven.

Using underhand tactics, the goth-loving Gary manages to convince his four childhood best friends to take part in the challenge, despite them having grown into successful and mature adults.

Meet teetotal lawyer Andy Knightley (Frost), architectural consultant Steven (Considine), high-flying estate agent Oliver (Freeman) and car dealer Peter (Marsan), while Oliver’s sister Sam (Pike) also pops up along the way.

After the first few identical pubs on the route, a mysterious atmosphere surrounds Gary and the group and the night soon spirals out of control.

In The Cross Hands, aka The Parkway Bar in Parkway, Welwyn Garden City, a slapstick fight soon breaks out in the men’s toilets unveiling ‘The Blanks’ – aliens disguised in human form who are threatening to take over the town, and the rest of the world.

The reunion soon becomes much more than a pub crawl and a bigger challenge than ever imagined as the gang embark on the craziest mission of a lifetime.

Bonus features exclusive to The World’s End Blu-ray™ include cast commentary with stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Paddy Considine and technical commentary with director Edgar Wright.

Cast and crew also discuss the prowess of The World’s End stunt and VFX teams, and viewers will also be able to watch rehearsals of intricate fight scenes choreographed by some of the movies’ best stuntmen.
