Stephen Fry, Emma Bunton and The Great British Bake Off’s Mel Giedroyc will be doing The Time Warp in The Rocky Horror Show next month.

It’s just a jump to the left. And then a step to the right.

With your hands on your hips. You bring you knees in tight.

But it’s the pelvic thrust... That really drives you insane

Let’s do the Time Warp again. Let’s do the Time Warp again. Let’s do the Time Warp again.

Get ready for a night of frolics, bursting at the seams with timeless classics, including Sweet Transvestite and Dammit Janet – and join in for the largest pelvic-thrusting worldwide Time Warp ever to make Rocky Horror history.

Fans of The Rocky Horror Show will know the lyrics and moves to The Time Warp off by heart.

Still the world’s favourite rock ‘n’ roll musical extravaganza, the sensational show is coming to The Playhouse Theatre in London from September 11 to September 19.

And there will be a gala performance on Thursday, September 17, which will be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK and Europe.

Comedy legend Stephen Fry, Great British Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc and Spice Girl Emma Bunton are the first celebrities to be announced as special guest stars for this one-off charity performance.

They will join the creator of The Rocky Horror Show, Richard O’Brien, on stage for one night only, as all four of them take their turn performing the role of ‘The Narrator’.

This gala performance, in aid of Amnesty International, is the highlight of 11 special shows at The Playhouse, all starring Richard O’Brien.

Tickets for these sold out in less than 72 hours – but fans without tickets can still see the gala performance from a cinema seat in Welwyn Garden City.

For Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show is being screened live at the Garden City Cinema, at Campus West, on September 17.

Show producer Sir Howard Panter said: “We are thrilled with the unprecedented demand for this special production of The Rocky Horror Show.

“I’m looking forward to shaking my tush to The Time Warp!”

In case you don’t know the plot of The Rocky Horror Show, here’s a synopsis.

On the way to visit an old college professor, two clean-cut kids, Brad Majors and his fiancée Janet Weiss, run into tyre trouble and seek help at the site of a light down the road.

It’s coming from the Frankenstein place, where Dr Frank N. Furter is in the midst of one of his maniacal experiments.

Sir Howard Panter

Casting for the 11 performances at The Playhouse has just been announced, starring a number of Rocky favourites.

Olivier Award winner David Bedella, who most recently toured the UK in The Producers, will be making a return to the show as the lead character, Frank ‘n’ Furter.

Bedella has performed in Rocky many times since 2006, and last appeared in 2010.

Ben Forster, who won the ITV1 series Superstar and went on to play the title role in the Jesus Christ Superstar UK arena tour, will star as Brad.

He last played Brad in the 40th Anniversary UK tour.

Returning as Janet, is West End star Haley Flaherty, who has performed the role in tours in Singapore, New Zealand and UK.

She will be joined by Kristian Lavercombe, reprising the role of Riff Raff, having previously notched up nearly 1,000 performances around the world.

The show will be directed by Christopher Luscombe and produced by Howard Panter for Ambassador Theatre Group.

These special London performances precede a nationwide UK tour, which opens at the Theatre Royal Brighton on December 17, 2015.

* Standard tickets for the September 17 film screening at the Garden City Cinema in WGC cost £19, and the price is £14 for students.

The screening starts at 6.45pm.
