V Festival 2013 line-up: Eddie Izzard to headline comedy stage

THE V Festival 2013 comedy line-up has been confirmed by organisers, with Eddie Izzard headlining.

Izzard will top the comedy bill on the Glee Club Stage at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, on Saturday, August 17 and then Weston Park, Staffordshire, the following day.

The twin-site festival’s official Twitter account tweeted earlier today (Friday): “We can confirm that @eddieizzard will headline the Glee Club comedy Stage at #VFestival - click image for line up. x pic.twitter.com/tCx7LKZXFn”

The comedy stage line-up image is pictured above, with stand-up slots for Josh Widdicombe, Shappi Khorsandi, Jon Richardson, Andrew O’Neill and Paul Chowdhry over the weekend.

The popular music festival’s main Virgin Media stage will be headlined by Crazy in Love singer Beyonce and Sex on Fire rockers Kings of Leon, with Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye and dance maestro Calvin Harris topping the bill on the second stage.

The likes of The Script, Jessie J, The Courteeners, Stereophonics, The Vaccines, Emeli Sande, Steve Angello, Basement Jaxx, Paloma Faith and former Welwyn Garden City man and now successful DJ Jaguar Skills also performing over the two days.

Stand-up star Izzard twice headlined outdoor comedy festival Laughs in the Park, in St Albans, in 2010 and 2011. The open-air festival hasn’t been held in the past two years.
