EastEnders actor Jake Wood will be shaking his hips again on the dance floor tonight (Saturday) when he performs a “fun samba” to the Macarena on Strictly Come Dancing.

Following last weekend’s fiesta from the dizzy heights of the Blackpool Tower, it’s ballroom business as usual for the Strictly contestants back at Elstree Studios.

With the 2014 competition quickstepping towards the finish line, the eight remaining couples must impress judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, and put all the hard work from the week’s training into practice.

Twinkle-toed Tewin talent Jake and professional dance partner Janette Manrara will be performing a party samba to the Macarena on tonight’s live show on BBC One from 7pm.

Jake, who plays bad boy Max Branning in EastEnders, this week took Janette to visit the Albert Square set and the Queen Vic.

After getting down to serious business in training, Janette Manrara (@JManrara) tweeted on Tuesday: “About to start rehearsals w/ @mrjakedwood! This is turning out to be quite the fun samba! Haha!”

Later in the day, she tweeted: “That was a great day of rehearsal! Samba technique is hard for @mrjakedwood but we’re definitely going to have a party! #Macarena #Jakarena”

And on Friday she posted: “This should be a very interesting weekend for us! #PartySamba”

Meanwhile Jake (@mrjakedwood) took to Twitter to post: “Seems my hips were born to Samba. Who knew? LOVING this dance @JManrara #macarena #StrictlyComeDancing #hisnameisjake”

Once each couple has performed tonight, the voting lines will open and it will be up to the public to decide which two pairs must face each other in the dreaded dance-off in Sunday’s Results Show.

Here are the dances the couples will be performing on tonight’s show and the music that will be performed live by the Dave Arch band:

* Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev will be dancing the American Smooth to Robbie Williams’ version of ‘Mack the Knife’.

* Frankie Bridge and Kevin Clifton will be performing the Viennese Waltz to Tom Jones’ ‘What’s new Pussycat?’.

* Jake Wood and Janette Manrara are set to Samba to the ‘Macarena’ by Los Del Rio.

* Mark Wright and Karen Hauer will Tango to OneRepublic’s ‘Love Runs Out’.

* Pixie Lott and Trent Whiddon are going to Charleston to ‘Sparkling Diamonds’ as sung by Nicole Kidman in the film ‘Moulin Rouge’.

* Simon Webbe and Kristina Rihanoff are due to perform a Salsa to ‘Let’s Hear For The Boy’ by Deniece Williams.

* Steve Backshall and Ola Jordan are Jiving to Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers version of ‘Little Bitty Pretty One’.

* Sunetra Sarker and Brendan Cole will be Waltzing to Paolo Nutini’s ‘Last Request’.
