Impractical Joker at Comedy Club show in Welwyn Garden City
TAKE a Scouser, an EastEnder and a star of new BBC3 comedy show Impractical Jokers and what do you get? The latest scheduled line-up of The Official Comedy Club at the Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City.
The Comedy Club continues its run of shows at the Stanborough Road sports complex on Friday, November 30 with a triple bill of Brendan Riley, Paul McCaffrey and Eddy Brimson.
Brendan Riley will be host comedian for the night of laughs. Brendan’s a typical Liverpudlian – direct, friendly and brash.
Like every Scouser, he speaks his mind and the energy and appeal of his stand-up style have made him a sought after host, compere, actor and comic.
Having appeared in both Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, he has also produced a series of documentaries, both spoof and straight, on his second love of motorbikes.
Paul McCaffrey, whose new BBC3 series Impractical Jokers started earlier this month, is a likeable comedian, animated and fluid with a first-rate sense of timing.
His assured delivery and beautifully observed material lead to bizarre flights into silliness and darkly gleeful rants.
Headlining will be Eddy Brimson. To say Londoner Eddy has a colourful past is something of an understatement.
Eddy has written a host of amusing anecdotal books, penned and hosted a top three selling video Teargas and Tantrums, and is also a regular ‘talking head’ for numerous radio and TV shows on subjects as diverse as football, dodgy builders and sexy baldness.
As an actor, he has appeared on programmes such as Absolutely Fabulous, The Thin Blue Line, Casualty, The Bill and, of course, EastEnders, where he played, you’ve guessed it, an East End villain who torched Frank’s car lot.
Tickets for the Gosling show cost £15, and £12.50 for Comedy Club members – sign up for free membership at www.thecomedyclub.co.uk
Doors open at 7.30pm and the show begins at 8.30pm. Call the box office on 01707 384329.
