Barnstormers Comedy night opens at Hertford Theatre

A BRAND new stand-up comedy night opens at the recently renovated Hertford Theatre this weekend.
Sunday will see the first Barnstormers Comedy show of the year in the intimate surroundings of the venue’s studio.
The people behind the comedy club on the final Friday of every month at Campus West in Welwyn Garden City will now be hosting another chortle-fest on the first Sunday of each month at the former Castle Hall venue in The Wash, Hertford.
“We have lots of comedy shows at arts centres and theatres across the south of England, but this is our first one at this venue,” said Barnstormers’ Stephen Newberry.
“Each month our compere will introduce three top acts from the London circuit, usually Comedy Store regulars.”
For the first show, compere Kevin Precious introduces the brilliantly inventive Marc Lucero, the formidable Richard Morton and the skilful and surreal Dan Evans.
Dan first appeared on the comedy circuit in 1994, shortly afterwards leaving a promising career as one of East Anglia’s leading office menials to go full time.
As well as playing clubs and universities throughout the UK, Dan has gigged in Holland, Germany, Dubai and Ireland as well as being part of the sell-out Screaming Blue Murder Cabaret and Avalon Comedy Zones at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Tickets for Hertford’s newest night of laughs cost £10 in advance and £12 on the door. The show starts at 7.30pm.
