WALL*E (U)

Oscar success: Best animated feature film

THE lonely world of a waste collecting machine is the focus for the latest treat from animation giants Pixar, the studio which brought us gems such as Toy Story and Finding Nemo.

In this futuristic tale, mankind has pushed Earth to its limit and have gone to find another inhabitable home.

But before they left, someone forgot to turn the last robot off.

WALL*E - short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class, if you must know! - has spent hundreds of years doing what he was built for. Well, that and collecting knick-knacks.

When a sleek search robot named EVE is sent to the planet on behalf of the humans, he falls in love. Bless him.

When she heads home to report her findings, the smitten machine follows, setting in motion an incredible adventure.
