Chart-topping singer Will Young has been announced for this summer’s Newmarket Nights at Newmarket Racecourses.

The actor and singer-songwriter, winner of the inaugural series of Pop Idol in 2002, will appear live in concert at the Suffolk racecourse on June 24.

Will Young said: “I’m really looking forward to playing outside under the sunny eastern skies at Newmarket Nights on 24th June, I always have so much fun at the races.”

His double A-sided debut single Evergreen / Anything Is Possible is included in the bestselling singles of all time in the UK, having sold more than 1.7million copies alone.

Will’s sixth studio album, 85% Proof, topped the charts last year, making it is his fourth number one album.

Tickets for Will Young will go on sale at 8am on Friday, January 29 via http://www.thejockeyclublive.co.uk, with a pre-sale available to customers at 8am on Wednesday, January 17.

Tickets start at £26 adult, and £13 child (under 18).

In addition to Newmarket, The Jockey Club Live will be hosting live concerts across Haydock Park, Aintree, Market Rasen, Epsom Downs, Carlisle and Sandown Park racecourses this summer.
