White Lies have announced a new tour date in Hatfield next year in support of their latest album Friends.

Presented by White Rabbit Concerts, the indie rock band will play The Forum Hertfordshire on Thursday, March 9, 2017.

The post-punk group from Ealing in west London released their fourth studio album Friends last month.

Harry McVeigh (vocals and lead guitar), Charles Cave (bass guitar and backing vocals) and drummer Jack Lawrence-Brown’s debut album To Lose My Life reached number one in the UK charts in 2009.

That chart-topping record featured singles To Lose My Life, Unfinished Business, Death and Farewell to the Playground.

Influenced by Talking Heads, White Lies’ musical style has drawn comparisons to the likes of Editors, Joy Division and The Killers.

Fourth album Friends, the follow-up to 2013’s Big TV, is self-produced by the trio and was recorded at Bryan Ferry’s London studio.

Pre-sale for the group’s 2017 UK tour starts tomorrow at 9am, and is only live for 48 hours.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday, November 11 at 9am.

Tickets cost £20, plus booking fees.
