Fans of alternative rockers Toploader will have two chances to go Dancing in the Moonlight with the band in Hertfordshire over the coming months.
The band’s original line-up will be playing a gig at The Alban Arena, in St Albans, on Saturday at 8pm, with support from local band Nick and the Sun Machine.
And the Dancing in the Moonlight favourites will return to the county on Friday, May 2 for a concert at Watford Colosseum.
Toploader formed in 1997, and have more than two million album sales to their name.
Their debut long player, Onka’s Big Moka, remained in the UK Album Charts for more than six months.
Joseph Washbourn (vocals & keyboards), Dan Hipgrave (guitar), Matt Knight (bass) and Rob Green (drums) returned in 2011, after a lengthy hiatus with their third studio album, Only Human.
Their live set includes top 10 singles Dancing in the Moonlight and Achilles Heel, as well as introducing fans to the group’s latest material.
Supporting them at the Alban Arena on Saturday night will be Nick and the Sun Machine, a St Albans-based alternative folk band, performing self-penned songs and covers.
Their sound is informed by contemporary innovators such as Animal Collective and Wild Beasts, but also the inventive, angular pop of Blur and XTC, the cinematic eccentricities of Bjork and multi-layered harmonies of The Beach Boys.
Tickets for Toploader at the Alban Arena cost £16.50.
