Three former headliners announced for Hatfield music festival
Organisers have confirmed the main stage headliners for a major music festival taking place in Hatfield in May.
Slam Dunk Festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, returns to the University of Hertfordshire on Sunday, May 24.
Promoters today (Wednesday) made the first SDF15 line-up announcement, with three former headliners on the bill.
You Me At Six, Taking Back Sunday and ska-punks Reel Big Fish will all appear at the all-day event.
Surrey rockers You Me At Six will headline the main stage at The Forum Hertfordshire, having released their 2008 debut album, Take Off Your Colours, through the festival’s own record label.
YM@6’s fourth full length release, Cavalier Youth, topped the UK album charts last year.
Singer Josh Franceschi explained why Slam Dunk is close to the band’s heart.
He said: “We are really excited to be headlining Slam Dunk Festival again.
“We had a lot of fun last time we played there, and can’t wait to close the festival each night.
“Leeds in particular will always have a special place in You Me’s hearts as our first ever label and management company was based there.
“Ten years of the band, so it feels right to be part of the festival.”
Former Slam Dunk headliners Taking Back Sunday return to Hatfield as special guests in a 2015 UK festival exclusive.
Taking Back Sunday frontman Adam Lazzara said: “Excited to head back to Slam Dunk Festival again in 2015.
“Man those folks really tell you how it is, so if you can get those shows/crowds up to a certain volume you know you’re doing okay.
“To be able to get back over for it makes us really happy, we love it there. ”
Also joining the line-up are Lower Than Atlantis, international pop-punk kings The Wonder Years and former festival headliners Reel Big Fish, who appeared at Knebworth’s Sonisphere Festival last summer.
Tickets for Slam Dunk 2015 are priced £39, or £44 with infamous after party entrance included.
