Three of the UK's favourite horn players will team up for Herts Jazz Club's opening concert of the new season in Welwyn Garden City.

The Three Tenors will play in the new Screen 2 auditorium at the Hawthorne Theatre complex, at Campus West, on Sunday, October 5.

Herts Jazz celebrates its 45th anniversary by opening the new term with a band normally seen only at festivals – Mornington Lockett, Don Weller and recently appointed Herts Jazz patron Art Themen.

The three tenor saxophonists in question are each in their own right distinctive, original and, most importantly, contrasting voices.

Totally relaxed, with mutual respect, they perfectly complement each other’s styles and are committed to demonstrating full on the consummate art of post-bop improvisation.

Joining the three sax players will be John Critchinson on piano, Andrew Cleyndert on bass and Clark Tracey on drums.

Advance tickets cost £3 students, £10 members, £13 concessions and £14 full.

Walk-ups are £5 students, £12 members, £15 concessions and £16 full.

Doors are at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm.
