FORMER The La’s bass player and Cast frontman John Power will be performing an acoustic show in St Albans next month.

The English singer-songwriter and musician will be appearing at The Horn pub on Saturday, June 1.

Power achieved commercial success in the 80s as the bass guitarist and secondary vocalist for Scouse band The La’s, best known for hit There She Goes, and later as the frontman of Cast during the Britpop movement of the mid-90s.

Following the split of Cast in 2001, he embarked on a solo career.

Power has since reunited with The La’s in 2005 and Cast in 2010 and they released the album Troubled Times last year.

Tickets for the gig cost £14 in advance and £16 on the door.
