IAN Dury’s backing band will be performing at the Hertford Corn Exchange next week.

The Blockheads will appear at the Fore Street music venue on Saturday, November 12 as part of the Classic Rock Club’s series of shows.

Formed in 1977 to promote Ian Dury’s album New Boots and Panties on the first Stiff Records tour of the UK, Chaz Jankel, Norman Watt-Roy, John Turnbull and Mick Gallagher still remain from the original band.

The current line-up is augmented by Gilad Atzmon and Dylan Howe.

These legendary funksters will be playing all the old favourites in the intimate surroundings of Hertford’s Corn Exchange.

Tickets cost from £20 and are available from the box office on 07904 333923.
