HATFIELD will be treated to the weird and wonderful world of DJ Yoda this weekend.

Duncan Beiny, aka DJ Yoda, will be performing his new show incorporating music and visual aids at the Forum Hertfordshire, in College Lane, on Saturday night as part of a 12-date tour.

Voted “one of the top three DJs in the world” by Hip Hop Connection, DJ Yoda incorporates a myriad of music styles into his shows and albums.

He’ll be performing ahead of the release of Unthugged 3D, a collaboration with long-term associate Dan Greenpeace.

He said: “I’ve tried to take this new show, The Wonderful World of DJ Yoda, to the next level.

“The technology involved in my audio-visual shows is moving fast, so every time I put a new show together I feel like I have new tricks up my sleeve.

“Musically, I play right across the board, from hip-hop to dubstep, reggae to drum ‘n’ bass, and country to electro – and a lot of the video material comes right off YouTube, and is remixed live in front of the crowd.

“Although I’m still always digging for obscure DVDs across the world, in the same way I used to search for rare vinyl records.”

DJ Yoda is well known for mixing visuals live on top of his DJ sources, and he draws from sources as diverse as classic movies, obscure television shows and viral YouTube clips.

It’s not uncommon to find him cutting up the Indiana Jones theme tune to full on dubstep, or dicing and splicing the Muppet Theme with 1930s swing.
