Standon Calling festival a week later in 2011
THE dates for next summer’s 2011 Standon Calling festival have been put back a week.
Taking place each year in the Hertfordshire countryside near Ware, the small-scale festival with a big reputation will take place a week later than normal in 2011.
A statement on the Standon Calling website said: “Due to an unprecedented amount of festival activity on the 5-7 August we are changing the date for next year’s Standon Calling to the following weekend: the 11-14 August.
“It just would have proved impossible for all our crew to work on Standon Calling without cancelling their commitments to other events.
“This way we know we’ll be able to provide you with the best Standon experience possible.”
Early bird weekend camping tickets are currently on sale for £95, although no acts have been confirmed yet for next summer.
The festival site will open at 5pm on Thursday, August 11 with drinks on sale and at least one stage providing entertainment.
Anybody who has already purchased tickets and can’t make the new dates should email email@example.com to arrange a refund.
Florence and The Machine and Friendly Fires have played Standon Calling in the past.
The 2010 festival featured bands such as Liars, Metronomy, The Magic Numbers, These New Puritans and British Sea Power.
