WITH the dust barely settled after this year’s sold-out festival, tickets for Standon Calling 2014 go on sale tomorrow (Friday).
The music festival in the Hertfordshire countryside near Ware took place over the weekend, with Digitalism, Band of Skulls and De La Soul headlining the main stage.
With a ‘Running Away From The Circus’ theme, the likes of album chart-toppers Bastille, AlunaGeorge, London Grammar and The Joy Formidable also played the three-day event in the grounds of Standon Lordship.
A status update on the festival’s Facebook page today (Thursday) read: “A BIG thank you to everybody who made Standon Calling 2013 such an amazing event.
“A lot of people are asking us when 2014 Early Bird Tickets go on sale. The answer is...tomorrow at 10am!!”
Standon Calling 2014 will be held over the weekend of August 1-3, and the super early bird ticket will be just £85, which is the same price as early bird tickets for 2013.
“Standon Calling 2013 was our most successful festival to date,” said festival founder Alex Trenchard.
“I’d like to thank all the crew who worked so hard in putting it together, as well as the artists, local residents and everybody who came and made it such a memorable event. I can’t wait to do it all again next year.”
A statement posted on the festival’s official website read: “We’d like to give a huge thank you to the artists, crew and most importantly the festival-goers who made Standon Calling 2013 such a huge success.
“The effort you all put in to making it such a memorable event was amazing.
“This was the first time we’ve ever entirely sold out the festival, reaching our 5,000 people capacity.
“The fact the festival still felt like an overgrown house party is largely down to the attitude of the festival-goers who give it that atmosphere.
“Of course, having one of our headliners doing an intimate pool-side set just hours before they ripped up the main stage probably helped!”
After the success of 2013, the rumours will now start over the Standon Calling 2014 line-up, headliners and theme.
