CAMPING tickets for the 2011 Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth go on sale to the general public this morning (Friday).
Pre-sale passes for the three-day rock and metal event scheduled for Friday, July 8 to Sunday, July 10 were made available for Sonisphere FMC members and those on selected mailing lists from Wednesday.
But general tickets for next summer’s weekend of metal mayhem in the grounds of Knebworth House officially go on sale from 9am today (Friday).
A limited number of three-day non-camping tickets are available from £140, while full weekend camping tickets start from £165.
A non-refundable deposit scheme is also running to allow festival-goers to secure their tickets now for £50 each, with the balance payable by March 1.
The UK leg of the international touring festival will be headlined by Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro on the Saturday.
American heavy metallers Slipknot will make an exclusive return to these shores and are expected to close the festival.
The third big headliner for Knebworth hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Bands will once again alternate between the main Apollo and Saturn stages, with sets considerately timed to avoid clashes.
As well as showcasing some of the hottest bands on the scene, Bohemia will also expand upon the success of 2010’s comedy element.
A statement from organisers said: “Last year saw o2 arena sell-out performer Tim Minchin appear alongside Sean Hughes, Jim Jeffries and other leading comedians, and Sonisphere plans to move forward with even bigger and more exciting names in 2011.”
The Strongbow Bowtime Bar, The Red Bull Bedroom Jam and Jagermeister stages will also return to Knebworth next summer.
Tickets are available from Sonisphere’s official website, click on the link above right.
