THE opportunity to support X Factor winner Leona Lewis on tour has forced a British singer-songwriter to cancel a live show in Hatfield this weekend.
Ryan Keen has called off his Room for Light concert at the Forum Hertfordshire’s Attic on Sunday night.
A statement on the College Lane venue’s website read: “It is with regret that we have to inform you that due to circumstances outside of our control the Ryan Keen ‘Room for Light’ tour date at the Forum Hertfordshire is now cancelled.”
In a statement, Ryan Keen explained his decision to scrap the gig.
“I’m really sorry to announce that due to the fantastic opportunity of the Leona Lewis tour support we’ve had to make some unfortunate but unavoidable changes to my tour,” he said.
“Hatfield, Oxford and Belfast are no longer happening. I wish there was another way to make it all work but unfortunately there isn’t.”
He added: “I hope you can understand how big an opportunity this is for me (especially as I’m unsigned) and that I am very disappointed to have to make this announcement.
“I will be doing a lot more of my own gigs and returning later in the year. Thank you for your understanding and support and sorry again.”
Full refunds for ticket holders are available from the point of purchase.
