Show of Hands announced for Folk by the Oak 2017 line-up

One of the country's finest roots acts will return to Hatfield's Folk by the Oak music festival in 2017.

Acclaimed acoustic roots duo Show of Hands – singer-songwriter Steve Knightly and multi-instrumentalist Phil Beer – will play the main stage at Folk by the Oak 2017 on Sunday, July 16.
Show of Hands with Miranda Sykes will return to the Hatfield House-based festival for the first time in five years.
Folk by the Oak festival director Adam Slough said: “Every time we put a call out to ask who people would like to see at the festival we can guarantee a number of shout-outs for Show of Hands, who last appeared at our fifth festival.

£33 Early Bird price until midnight January 31, 2017.
£36.50 Advance price from February 1 until midnight March 31, 2017.
£39.50 Regular price from April 1 until midnight July 15, 2017.
£45 on day of festival (subject to availability).

£18 at all times (children aged 4 and under are free, and do not require a ticket).
All under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is over 18 years old.

£94 Early Bird price until midnight January 31, 2017.
£101 Advance price from February 1 until midnight March 31, 2017.
£107 Regular price from April 1 until midnight July 15 2017.
(Not available on the day of the festival).

The former FBTO headliners join Levellers, playing Levelling the Lane live, Yorkshire singer-songwriter Kate Rusby and special project Shake the Chains on the main stage bill, with three more acts to be announced.
A further seven slots are to be confirmed on the smaller Acorn Stage for up-and-coming folk artists.
Folk by the Oak is a festival of folk’s finest acts gathered together in beautiful leafy parkland for one uplifting summer day of music.
Gates to the festival will open at noon on the day, with the music starting an hour later.
The event will finish around 10.30pm following a fireworks finale during the Levellers’ closing set.
Folk by the Oak organisers are offering an uncapped early bird rate of £33 for anyone buying their tickets before the end of January 2017.

Adults tickets will cost £45 on the day of the festival, subject to availability.
• Battle Proms, the UK’s premier classical picnic proms with Spitfire, cannons, cavalry and fireworks, will take place at Hatfield House on Saturday, July 15 – the day before Folk by the Oak.
