Right on song at Potters Bar church

A MUSICAL feast is on offer at a Potters Bar church this week.
Theatre company Green Room is celebrating the seasons in a sublime collection of musical theatre songs at King Charles the Martyr Church, in Mutton Lane.
Performances started yesterday (Thursday) and run until Saturday.
Talking about Seasons of Song, Green Room chairman Alastair Woodgate said: “Take time out from the festive frenzy and indulge yourself in a feast of musical theatre, in the delightful setting of King Charles the Martyr Church.
“It may be cold outside but this is a chance to enjoy the newness of spring, the warmth of summer and the mellowness of autumn. But we will celebrate the winter and festive season too!”
The programme features 20 of the company’s performers, presenting songs drawn from classic shows and lesser-known musicals, and from composers including Rodgers and Hammerstein, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Stephen Schwartz and William Finn.
Seasons of Song follows Green Room’s sell-out production of La Cage aux Folles at the Wyllyotts Theatre last month.
Next year sees the company put on Mel Brook’s musical comedy The Producers.
Anyone wishing to find out more about forthcoming productions can pick up information and speak to members of the company at Seasons of Song.
Performances at King Charles the Martyr Church are nightly at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 3pm.
Tickets cost £10 and are available from the Green Rom box office on 020 8360 1957 or on the door.
