ORGANISERS of Rhythms of the World are keeping up their fundraising activities in preparation for the Hertfordshire music festival’s return next year.

The popular Hitchin-based world music event took a break in 2013 after finding itself without a suitable venue.

ROTW volunteers who organised the weekend event, however, hope to see the festival return in 2014 at a new site.

Rhythms of the World chairman Amy Hopkins said: “We are really hoping that we can run a full festival on a new site in 2014.

“In the meantime, we’re keeping up our fundraising drive. We hope to see lots of our fans at the events we’ll be organising through the autumn and winter.”

The next Rhythms of the World event will be a quiz night on Saturday, November 9 at the Church House, Churchgate, Hitchin, at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

The cost is £10 including a fish and chip supper. Contact laurajanejordan@yahoo.co.uk for tickets.

Meanwhile, band Chron Gen have kindly donated £260 to Rhythms of the World from money they raised from a gig at Club 85, in Hitchin, back in August.
