A MONTHLY acoustic night at a Welwyn Garden City pub has a new time on a different day from this weekend.

Part-time Unicorn, an acoustic music club held in The Green Room at The Doctors Tonic, is taking up a Sunday slot from October 2.

Between 5pm and 8pm, the usual mix of folk, indie and experimental sounds now offers a lively way to move the weekend towards its close.

This time around, featured acts include American songstress Kristi Michele, and worldly influenced alt-folk from Berlin resident Avital Raz.

There will also be floorspots from wry skifflers The Ouse Valley Singles Club, WGC’s own alt-indie rock troubadour P.P. Dog and the Hendrix of the didgeridoo, Didji Dave.

Further delights may also involve open mic slots and a new feature to the evening, a ‘jam session’ finale, which will begin after 8pm, should anyone wish to bring an instrument along.

Entry is still free, although donations are welcome, and under 18s are now welcome to attend, accompanied by a responsible adult.

Food is also available downstairs before proceedings start and until 9pm.
