Musicians Allison Neale and Nat Steele will team up for this evening’s Herts Jazz Club concert in Welwyn Garden City.

Alto sax / flute player Allison and vibes man Nat Steele will perform at the Hawthorne Theatre complex tonight (Sunday, February 28).

Drawing from the influences of the great West Coast altoists of the 1950s such as Paul Desmond and Art Pepper, American-born Allison Neale’s new quintet project features vibraphonist Nathaniel Steele, a young jazz musician in the American bop tradition, influenced heavily by Milt Jackson.

Neale Meets Steele brings the two styles together to create a musical tension that’s perfectly balanced by a sizzling rhythm section of favourite top jazz musicians.

They will be performing music from their latest CD, I Wished on the Moon, which was released to great acclaim in 2015 on Trio Records.

Joining Allison Neale and Nat will be Rob Barron on piano, Dario De Lecce on bass and Matt Home on drums.

Advance tickets cost £3 students, £8 members, £10 concessions and £11 full.

Walk-ups are £5 students, £9 members, £12 concessions and £13 full.

The gig starts at 7.30pm.
