AWARD-winning musical The Hired Man by Melvyn Bragg and Howard Goodall, is coming to the University of Hertfordshire as part of a tour.

East Midlands theatre company, New Perspectives, are touring the length and breadth of Britain with the show.

Set in Cumbria in the early years of the 20th century, the production tells the moving story of a young married couple and their struggle to carve a living from their land.

And English country life is being interrupted by the gathering storm of the war in Europe.

The production is at the university's Weston Auditorium, on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 , £10 for concessions and £5 for students and children.
