Chart-topping Uptown Funk star Mark Ronson has been confirmed as the final act appearing at Newmarket Racecourse this summer.

Completing the line-up for the 2016 Newmarket Nights season, The Jockey Club Live and Newmarket Racecourses are delighted to announce that international superstar Mark Ronson will be bringing his acclaimed live DJ set to the Adnams July Course on Friday, August 5.

Amy Starkey, Regional Director East of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Mark Ronson to Newmarket Racecourses for the first time.

“This really is the cherry on the top of what is set to be a fantastic summer on the Adnams July Course, adding further to the celebrations around the 350th anniversary in Newmarket this year.”

Ronson’s back catalogue is second to none, having released some of the most successful hits of the past decade, including Oh My God featuring Lily Allen, Stop Me featuring Daniel Merriweather and Valerie featuring Amy Winehouse.

It was in 2014, however, that he released a track that would go on to become one of the most streamed and biggest selling singles of the 21st century – Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars.

The track was catapulted to the number one spot both in the UK and in America and secured him a BRIT Award for British Single of the Year.

In addition to his success as a lead artist, Ronson is also a celebrated producer having worked with acts ranging from Adele to Duran Duran, and won two Grammy Awards for his work on Amy Winehouse’s seminal Back to Black album.

Last year’s award-winning 2015 season saw Newmarket Nights welcome acts including Kylie, Spandau Ballet, Tom Jones and Kaiser Chiefs to the Adnams July Course, collectively playing to over 100,000 fans.
