Maltese Connection appearing in concert in Welwyn Garden City
Malta’s leading jazz pianist will be performing a rare concert in Welwyn Garden City this weekend.
Fronted by Dominic Galea, Maltese Connection will be Sunday’s special guests at Herts Jazz Club.
Joining Dominic on stage will be Brandon Allen on tenor, Martin Shaw on trumpet, Mark Lewandowski on bass and Clark Tracey on drums.
The pianist from Malta is on a short trip to the UK to promote the release of his latest CD, The Maltese Connection.
The CD was recorded last year in London with the same line-up that will be appearing in Screen 2 of the Garden City Cinema/Hawthorne Theatre complex on June 11.
The quintet has already played at Herts Jazz Festival and the Maltese Jazz Festival, performing original, distinctive compositions by Dominic, as well as his father, Sammy Galea, and some standard tunes.
Advance tickets for the gig cost £3 students, £11 members, £14 concessions and £15 full.
Tickets on the night are £5 students, £13 members, £16 concessions and £17 full.
The concert starts at 7.30pm.
