Here's a concert you will want to Shout about... Singer Lulu is coming to St Albans later this year as part of her 2017 Lulu All About The Music Tour.
Following on from her smash hit 2016 dates, Lulu returns with her biggest UK tour yet.
The Scottish singer, songwriter, actress and television personality will be appearing at The Alban Arena on Thursday, October 12.
Tickets for the concert are on sale now.
“I toured for the first time in 15 years in 2015 and haven’t stopped since,” said Lulu, whose first UK hit was Shout as a teenager in 1964.
“I absolutely love playing live and can’t wait to be out on the road again in autumn this year, performing the music that I have shared with you throughout my career.
“My life has always been all about the music, so come and join me again or for the first time, and let’s have a great night of music.”
After scoring a top 10 hit with her debut single Shout, Lulu won the Eurovision Song Contest five years later in 1969 with Boom Bang-a-Bang.
Her other big hits of the 60s include Leave A Little Love, The Boat That I Row, which was written by Neil Diamond, I’m A Tiger, and To Sir With Love, from the film of the same name, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in America.
In the 1970s, Lulu returned to the UK top 10 with a cover of David Bowie song The Man Who Sold The World. She also had a fling with the legendary Ziggy Stardust singer during that period.
Lulu also performed the title song for the James Bond film The Man With The Golden Gun.
It wasn’t until 1993, however, that she scored her first – and only – UK number one after teaming up with Take That as guest vocalist on hit single Relight My Fire.
After more than 50 years in the business, Lulu still has plenty to Shout about.
She celebrated her 50th year as a recording artist with her self-penned and critically acclaimed album Making Life Rhyme on Decca Records.
The Grammy-nominated singer will be performing tracks from that record on her new tour, as well as her biggest hits.
Lulu’s St Albans show starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets for the concert cost £39.50, £35, and £32.50.
