A POPULAR live music venue in St Albans is closing – but only for a refurbishment.

The Horn pub on Victoria Street shuts next Wednesday (August 1) for two weeks for a major overhaul of the bar and front garden area.

When The Horn re-opens on August 15, the establishment will still be hosting the best live music around, but will also be offering a new food menu, which will be available from noon until 9pm every day.

There will also be new events added like comedy nights, quiz nights/afternoons and acoustic acts playing on Sunday afternoons.

Adrian Bell, owner of the pub, said: “This time the focus is on offering a great venue where it will be relaxed and comfortable to hang out with friends for a drink and some food whether you are there to see a band or not.

“The Horn has been a huge part of my life as promoter and owner since 1998 and I hope this refurbishment will keep The Horn going for many more great years as a key pub in the town and an important music venue for bands to perform at.”

The Horn will have a new feature wall, which will show the history of the site. The pub would like anyone who has memorabilia or pictures of the pub through the ages to email info@thehorn.co.uk
