Pop sensations Little Mix will headline Summer Saturday Live at Newmarket Racecourses this summer.
The girl group and 2011 X Factor winners, will bring the Newmarket concert season to a close on Saturday, August 27.
Little Mix – Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall – said: “We can’t wait to come and see all of our fans at Summer Saturday Live at Newmarket in August!
“We love open air shows and promise an amazing day out – together we will give summer the perfect send off before school starts.”
Since winning the 2011 series of The X Factor, Little Mix have sold more than million records, had two UK number one singles and two platinum albums ‘DNA’ and ‘Salute’.
With over half a billion YouTube and Vevo views worldwide, they have also successfully become one of Britain’s greatest exports with massive tours in the US, Australia and Japan – breaking the Spice Girls’ long-held record of highest debut US chart position for a UK girl group in the process.
The group’s hits include Move, Wings, DNA and Black Magic, which spent three weeks at number one.
Summer Saturday Live is a daytime event in the picturesque open-air setting of the July Course at Newmarket.
Alongside a show-stopping performance by Little Mix, the action kicks off earlier in the day with a six race card – giving fans the chance to witness powerful equine athletes who are stars in their own right, and enjoy the thrilling drama and spectacle of them racing for glory.
Amy Starkey, regional director east of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “We are very excited to welcome Little Mix back to Newmarket Racecourses in August.
“Summer Saturday Live, our final event of the summer on the Adnams July Course, always has a fantastic family atmosphere associated with it and Little Mix will no doubt provide an amazing show to round off another brilliant year of music here at Newmarket.”
Last year’s award-winning 2015 season welcomed acts including Kylie to Spandau Ballet, and Tom Jones to Kaiser Chiefs to the Adnams July Course, collectively playing to over 100,000 fans.
