Kaiser Chiefs are the latest group to join the line-up of Newmarket Racecourses’ spectacular summer season.

Due to incredible demand, the indie rockers from Leeds will be bringing their formidable live set back to Newmarket Nights on July 15, 2016.

Their appearance at the course last year saw thousands of fans descended on to the green for undoubtedly one of the highlights of the 2015 summer season.

Kaiser Chiefs said: “We can’t wait to headline Newmarket Racecourses and to be a part of the venue’s 350th anniversary celebrations.

“Last year’s sell-out show was a lot of fun, 2016 will be even better!”

The Brit Award-winning, multi-million selling band – lead by BBC One’s The Voice coach Ricky Wilson – first shot to recognition in 2005 for breakout hit I Predict A Riot.

That was followed by hits including Oh My God, Everyday I Love You Less and Less, and number one single Ruby.

They topped the UK album charts with their latest LP, Education, Education, Education & War, in 2014.

The record became their second number one long player, following 2007’s Yours Truly Angry Mob, and became their fifth top 10 album.

Amy Starkey, Regional Director East of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming the Kaiser Chief’s back to our Newmarket Night’s stage.

“They put on such a fantastic performance last year and we have had hundreds of requests to get them back to the racecourse, so its very exciting to have them on the bill for our very special 350th anniversary year.”

Last year’s award-winning 2015 season welcomed acts including Kylie, Spandau Ballet and Tom Jones to the Adnams July Course, collectively playing to over 100,000 fans.

The season launched with a sell-out crowd of 22,000 achieved in a record-breaking 40 minutes for Kylie.

This year alongside Kaiser Chiefs, Jess Glynne, The Corrs, Busted, Will Young, Little Mix and Tears for Fears have been announced for the 2016 season.

The Little Mix concert has already sold out.
