MUSIC fans defied the rain to help raise more than £5,000 for a Welwyn Garden City charity at a village pub’s festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The annual Goatfest extravaganza, held at The Goat in High Street, Codicote, attracted around 1,500 people on Saturday and Sunday.
And festival-goers helped organisers of the live music event raise more than £5,000 for the Welwyn Garden City-based Isabel Hospice.
Festival organiser Rowan Patel, from Ace of Herts Entertainment, was delighted so many people turned out over the weekend, despite Saturday’s heavy rain.
Rowan said: “It was an absolutely amazing weekend of live music.”
Twenty acts performed over the two days, with AC/DC tribute Dirty DC headlining Saturday night, while Soul Funk Secret really got people going as Sunday’s headliners.
“I think the quality of the acts all day and the vibe and atmosphere is what makes Goatfest so special,” added Rowan.
