MUSIC from ‘Great Britten to Queen’ will be the theme of this weekend’s concert at Friends Meeting House in Welwyn Garden City.

Friends Music welcome back ever popular cellists Joely Koos and Tim Gill, mainly playing their cellos but also playing the piano and singing together.

Both Joely and Tim work as professional musicians in London and have given concerts around the world, and their performances at the Meeting House, in Welwyn Garden City, are always a wonderful mix of the deeply moving and fun.

They say that they will be including music for all tastes from intense dark to frothy light, including Britten’s profound first solo suite for cello, Steve Reich’s mesmerising cello counterpoint, Paganini’s virtuosic variations, and an indulgent reliving of their youth, with never-heard-before arrangements of some favourite songs including Supertramp and Queen.

Admission is free and the concert at 109 Handside Lane on Sunday will raise money for John Humphry’s The Kitchen Table Charities Trust.

The concert starts at 6pm.
