One-time Maiden guitarist Dennis Stratton will play The Rock Den in February with his band Remus Down Boulevard.

Things will certainly be stepping up a gear at The Rock Den in 2014, as promoter Dean Archer has been busy booking bands to grace the stage at Breaks Manor.

New up-and-coming bands will be sharing headline slots with rock bands from the 70s and 80s.

However Deano, as he is known to his friends and the artists he has met and supported over the years, was shocked when out of the blue he received a phone call from Dennis Stratton asking for gigs at The Rock Den.

“Maiden are an all-time favourite band of mine,” said Dean, who has seen them play all over the UK and Europe, including a trip on the Iron Maiden coach when they played at Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance race many years ago, and a special fan club only gig at Pinewood Studios.

Formed by Dennis Stratton and Dave Edwards in 1975, Remus Down Boulevard became one of the biggest bands on the London circuit and later toured Europe with Status Quo.

When Dennis left RDB to join Iron Maiden in 1980, Dave went on to form United with Andy Pyle and John Gosling, who were formerly with The Kinks.

In 2009, Dave toured South Africa with Dennis Stratton’s Maiden Years and now RDB are enjoying a revival.

Tickets for their gig at The Rock Den on Saturday, February 22 are £5 in advance or £7.50 on the door.
