Now in its eighth year, the folk and acoustic event returns to the grounds of Hatfield House on Sunday, July 19.

The festival is renowned for bringing together a “line-up of headliners” in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Oak Field.

This year’s line-up includes Grammy Award winner Mary Chapin Carpenter, festival favourites Bellowhead, current album chart successes The Unthanks and BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year Nancy Kerr.

“With such a fantastic line-up we’re not surprised that ticket sales are strong,” said Folk by the Oak festival director Adam Slough.

“But we have been pleasantly surprised at just how fast they are flying out the door this year.”

When asked why he thought the festival was enjoying such success this summer, Adam said: “The FBTO team work hard every year to ensure this is a great day out for the whole family, with expansive vintage and craft tents, oodles of children’s activities, delicious food from around the world and, of course, the real ale bar.

“Alongside our careful selection of artists, we feel offering all this in an easy to get to, no need to camp, one-day festival in such a stunning location has helped to us to build a loyal and enthusiastic following that is growing year on year.

“I think being one of the few folk festivals with a firework finale doesn’t hurt either!”

Tickets are currently £37 for adults, £17 for children aged five to 15, with family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) £100.

Doors will open at 12.30pm and the music starts at 1.30pm. The event finishes around 10.30pm.
